Step Lively!

Welcome to our blog viewers from the United Kingdom!
I received some tremendous feedback from individuals in the Federal contracting community on my inquiry about using a third party consultant.  Thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts and experiences on that topic.  It certainly stirred some action on our part.
The consensus on that topic was that using a third party in SOME capacity is virtually required to be successful—at the very least to be successful in a reasonable timeframe.  We have taken that advice to heart and are looking at our outsourcing options.  As always, the Do Nothing option is on the table.  Please note this is NOT a request for quotes or sales pitches!  This blog is about mindshare, not solicitation.
With bad travel weather approaching, I have had to cancel attending some events midweek.  If anyone attends interesting forums, discussions, meetings with speakers, etc., in the D.C. area, I would like to know if there are any good ones next week.  Any opportunity to meet new contacts in Gov’t IT is welcome.
For those interested in telecom networks (Networx), here is Karl Krumbholz’s blog: http://gsablogs.gsa.gov/networkservices/.  I have seen Karl speak several times at The National Capital Chapter of the ITPA (Independent Telecommunications Pioneer Association) and he is always generous with his insight.
